What happens when a team is unhealthy?

Team's Health

What happens when a team is unhealthy?

Like when our body is sick, an unhealthy organization shows many symptoms.

When people work too much without rest, they get tired and stressed, and their work suffers.

The same happens to organizations. Too much work and bad processes make them less productive. If this continues, people lose passion, get bored, and morale drops. The organization becomes like a tired person with low energy.

If this goes on, people's immune system weakens, and they get sick easily. For organizations, the immune system is like their ability to handle problems. Without it, they can't deal with outside risks well.

Just as people get weak without exercise, organizations lose strength if they don't train and resist new ideas.

They need constant learning to stay strong, especially about new technology and market trends.

People think and decide using their brain and nerves.

If these are damaged, it's hard to do normal activities. Similarly, if an organization can't communicate well or make good decisions, it can't work properly.

When people get arthritis, they become stiff and less flexible.

Organizations with rigid cultures also become less flexible and creative, falling behind in competition.

Eating only certain foods can cause health problems due to lack of nutrients.

Similarly, if an organization focuses only on certain departments or projects, it loses balance.

Not sleeping well causes big problems in daily life.

In the same way, if an organization is always in crisis and stress, its employees lose energy and creativity.

A very serious problem is when an organization's functions and roles are not set up properly.

This is like having eyes that don't work or having no eyes at all.

All health problems that happen to people can happen to organizations too, because organizations are made up of people.

When these "symptoms" appear, the organization can't work well. Work quality drops, employees become unhappy, and eventually, the organization loses its place in the market and may disappear.

That's why we need to think, "Our team needs a health check too!" Just like we go to the doctor for regular check-ups, organizations should have regular "organizational health check-ups."
